Opinions about photography
Most of my family members believe that photography and taking picture is fun. It’s a way to save memories to share it with the others. In the other hand, some of my relatives think that pictures and sculptures are forbidden in Islam. Therefore, they hate to keep them in their houses or offices.
Photography in my opinion is art. I really like taking photos, so I encourage whoever has this talent. I think that shooting is a way to show the beauty of the universe.
There are many “fatwa” about this topic in Islam. Some people said that it’s allowed and the other said that its not. But, after many researches which were done by many ulema, they found that it’s forbidden except in some situations. According to Abdulaziz bin Baz, President of the Permanent Committee for Research and Fatawa, taking pictures for being with soul are forbidden in Islam even if the picture have shadow or not. And the only exception is if it is without soul such as trees.
At the end, taking photos and shooting is an art that help people to express their-selves. But like everything in the world it has rules that we should follow to be safe from Allah’s anger. Therefore, after knowing Islam’s opinion in this art, I decide to use photography in a way that help me to express my-self and at the same time not to shock islam’s rules.
